Instant Template Guidelines

These guidelines ensure every template in the Instant marketplace is exceptional. Submitting a template means you’ve followed everything listed here.


1. Expectations

Instant gives creators:

  • 50% of referral revenue for 12 months (if your Shoffi account has a 25% fee, please contact [email protected] for a manual change)

  • Access to a growing, visible marketplace

  • Zero listing fees. We review every submission manually. Our aim is to help you publish something outstanding, not just quickly. If we send it back, take the feedback seriously, make improvements, and try again.

2. Originality

Your template should be original and have a purpose.

  • No clones or slight variations of existing templates

  • Unique layouts, interactions, and structure

  • Designed for a specific user or scenario

3. Design

Every design detail matters.

  • Keep styles consistent throughout

  • Use a clear visual hierarchy

  • Only include high-quality imagery

  • Stick to a defined color and text system

  • Use thoughtful, even spacing

4. Layout

Structure your content with intention.

  • Every page should feel distinct

  • Avoid horizontal scroll and messy alignment

  • Use stacks and auto-height to ensure flexibility

5. Text

Typography should feel just right.

  • Make it legible and consistent

  • Proof everything. No typos or grammar mistakes

  • Use system fonts or Instant defaults

  • Don’t use placeholder copy like lorem ipsum

6. Responsive Design

Your template needs to look great everywhere.

  • Use stacks and grids to keep layouts fluid

  • Test on mobile, tablet, and desktop

  • Avoid fixed-width components that break

7. Links

If it looks clickable, it should work.


• All links should function properly
• Include mailto and tel links where appropriate
• Add hover and active states to interactive elements
• No broken or placeholder links


8. Assets

Assets should be clean and optimized.

  • Name files clearly

  • Only include licensed, high-quality visuals

  • Remove anything unused or duplicated

9. Tags and Metadata

Metadata helps users and search engines.

  • Use h1 to h6 heading tags properly

  • Add meaningful alt text to all images

10. Accessibility

Everyone should be able to use your template.

  • Ensure color contrast meets guidelines

  • Follow basic accessibility standards

11. Copyright

Use only what you’re allowed to.

  • Don’t copy designs or other templates

  • No copyrighted logos, assets, or imagery

  • Only include client work with written permission

  • Violations may lead to removal

12. Marketplace Listing

Your listing should reflect the actual product.

  • Use accurate previews

  • Add the right tags

  • Write a benefit-focused description

  • Clearly show what makes it unique

13. Submission Checklist

Before hitting submit:

  • Check that the listing is accurate

  • Make sure all links and actions work

  • Confirm responsiveness across screen sizes

  • Ensure all content is original and licensed

  • Review every section of these guidelines
