Projects are the workspaces where you build and publish Shopify storefronts in Instant. Each project has its own layouts, settings, members, and plan.
Create a project
Open the project switcher in the builder header (your team avatar and current project name), then click New project at the bottom of the Projects column.
On the Project step (What is your project about?), enter a Title. Instant pre-fills a suggested name, but you can change it to anything you like.
Click Create project.
After creation, Instant offers a Connect your Shopify store step. Connect now or choose I will do this later and return to it from project settings.
Rename a project or change its icon
Open your project in the builder.
Open the builder menu (Instant logo in the header) and choose Project settings, or open Settings → General in the settings sidebar.
In the Project settings card:
Upload a new Icon (Min. size 128x128px, PNG or JPEG).
Edit the Name field.
Click Save in the page header.
Your project Slug is shown below the name (for example app.instant.so/builder/your-project). The slug is fixed and cannot be edited.
Only project Owners and Admins can change project settings.
Switch between projects
Use the project switcher in the builder header:
Click your current project name (and team avatar, if the project belongs to a team).
Under Teams, choose My space for personal projects, or a team name for team projects.
Under Projects, click the project you want to open.
A checkmark shows the team and project you are currently viewing. Use New team or New project at the bottom of each column to create more, and the gear icon next to a team to open its Team settings.
To switch faster, open the command palette with Ctrl+K / Cmd+K and start typing a project name — it searches your projects (and layouts) so you can jump straight to one.
Tips
Give projects clear names so your team can find them quickly in the switcher.
Upload a distinct icon if you manage several projects—icons appear in the header and project lists.
