The Assets panel in Instant provides centralized management for all your media files. Access images and videos from both Instant and your connected Shopify store in one unified location.
Accessing the Assets Panel
Open the Assets panel from the left sidebar. This is your hub for browsing, uploading, and managing all media assets used in your projects.
Asset Sources
The Assets panel organizes your files under two tabs:
Instant Tab
Displays all assets uploaded directly to Instant. These files are stored within the Instant platform and are available across your projects.
Shopify Tab
Displays assets from your connected Shopify store. When you connect your project to Shopify, Instant automatically loads your Shopify media library, allowing you to use existing product images, banners, and other assets without re-uploading them.
Note: The Shopify tab only appears when your project is connected to a Shopify store.
Finding Assets
Search
Use the search field located below the tabs to quickly find assets by name. This searches across your current tab's asset library.
Browsing
Scroll through the assets list to browse visually. Assets display as thumbnails for easy identification.
Uploading New Assets
Click the plus button (+) on the right side of the assets list to upload new files. Uploaded assets appear under the Instant tab and become immediately available for use in your projects.
Asset Preview
Hover over any asset thumbnail to view a preview with detailed information:
Information | Description |
File Name | The name of the asset file |
Type | The asset format (image, video, etc.) |
Dimensions | Width and height in pixels |
Size | File size |
Asset Options
Hover over an asset thumbnail to reveal the more options button (three dots) in the top-right corner.
Instant Assets
For assets under the Instant tab, the options menu includes:
Option | Description |
Copy Link | Copies the asset URL for external use or linking |
Asset Details | Opens the details panel where you can edit the asset name and generate AI-powered alt text |
Remove Asset | Deletes the asset from your Instant library |
Shopify Assets
For assets under the Shopify tab, the options menu includes:
Option | Description |
Copy Link | Copies the asset URL for external use |
Open in Shopify | Opens the asset directly in your Shopify admin for management |
Asset Details
Access detailed asset information and editing options through the Asset Details panel.
Editable Fields
Name — Update the asset's display name for easier organization
Alt Text — Add descriptive text for accessibility and SEO. Use the AI generation feature to automatically create alt text based on the image content.
Tip: Adding alt text improves your site's accessibility for screen reader users and boosts SEO performance in search engines like Google.
