Cart analytics

Track Instant Cart revenue, add-ons, AOV, conversion rate, and the cart-to-checkout funnel.

The Cart tab in Analytics focuses on shoppers who use your Instant Cart — revenue, add-ons, average order value, conversion, and a cart-to-checkout funnel. Site-wide attributed revenue lives on the Overview tab (Analytics overview).

Open Analytics in the project sidebar, then select Cart.

Before you start

The Cart tab needs at least one Cart layout in the project. Without one, it shows a Measure your performance panel with a Create cart button.

To design and publish a live Instant Cart, follow Build a cart drawer. Publishing the cart drawer as your theme cart requires the Pro plan or higher; the Analytics panel itself is available on Starter and up.

Cart metrics

Select a metric card to drive the trend chart:

Metric

What it means

Revenue

Total revenue of orders that used Instant Cart during the shopping journey

Add-ons

Additional sales from products added inside Instant Cart (cross-sells, upsells, add-ons). Includes line-level discounts only, not order-level discounts

AOV

Average amount spent per completed order that used Instant Cart

Conversion rate

The percentage of Instant Cart drawer opens that resulted in completed purchases

Orders

Shoppers who used Instant Cart and completed their purchase

Orders and Revenue here are cart-scoped, so they can differ from Orders and Attributed revenue on the Overview tab, which cover Instant pages, carts, and experiences together.

Conversion funnel

Below the metrics, the cart conversion funnel shows three stages:

Stage

What it means

Opened Cart

Unique users who opened Instant Cart during the shopping journey

Checkout reached

Shoppers who used Instant Cart and began checkout

Checkout completed

Shoppers who used Instant Cart and completed their purchase (same scope as Orders)

Conversion rate is shown above the funnel — the share of cart opens that became purchases.

Date range, comparison, and breakdowns

The Cart tab uses the same controls as Overview:

  • Date range (default Last 7 days) and compared to (Previous period, quarter, year, or No comparison)

  • The chart Show interval (Hour through Quarter, with limits on long ranges)

  • Devices (Devices, OS, Browsers) and Locations (Countries, Regions), scoped to Instant Cart traffic

Using cart insights

Practical checks:

  1. Opened Cart → Checkout reached — if many open the cart but few start checkout, review the drawer's clarity, shipping messaging, or friction (Build a cart drawer).

  2. Add-ons — watch whether upsells and add-ons contribute meaningful revenue (Cart upsells and add-ons).

  3. AOV vs conversion — rising AOV with flat conversion can still be a win if revenue grows.

When cart numbers look wrong

  • Confirm Instant Cart is published and set as your theme cart.

  • Open the live cart in a normal browser session, not only the builder preview.

  • Allow time for purchases to attribute after checkout.

  • Compare with Overview if you also sell through Instant pages outside the cart.
