The Assets library holds the images you use across your Instant site. Open it from the ⋯ menu in the builder's left panel and choose Assets.
Two sources: Instant and Shopify
The panel shows one source at a time. Use the Switch to Shopify assets / Switch to Instant assets button at the top to move between them:
Instant — images uploaded to your Instant project
Shopify — files from your connected Shopify store
If Shopify isn't connected, the Shopify source shows a Connect Shopify prompt.
Upload assets
On the Instant source, drag image files onto the panel, or use Upload an asset to pick files. Uploaded images appear in the grid, newest first. The search box filters by name, and the grid loads more as you scroll.
The asset library holds images. To add fonts, use Settings → Fonts — see Custom fonts.
Use assets in the builder
Pick assets wherever an image or fill input appears:
Fill → image or video fill in the Style section
Image and media elements → the image source picker
The asset picker inside the Design panel mirrors the Assets panel, so selecting an asset applies it to the current field.
Shopify files
When Shopify is connected, images stored in Shopify are available without re-uploading, which keeps merchandising in Shopify while you design in Instant. Dynamic image sources (such as a product's featured image) are separate from static asset picks — use dynamic sources when the image should change per product, and use Assets for fixed brand imagery like logos and campaign art.
Best practices
Name uploads descriptively so search works later, and prefer optimized formats for performance. For hero images, set a focal point in the Media section after choosing the asset.
