A gallery shows all of a product's media in one element — a main stage plus a thumbnail strip with previous and next controls. In Insert → Shopify → Product, choose Gallery.
Instant offers two Gallery presets that differ in thumbnail placement (thumbnails beside the main image, or arranged for a taller main stage). Both include a thumbnail strip, a main image slider, and navigation arrows. Pick whichever suits your product page, then restyle it after inserting.
How galleries work
A gallery repeats over the product's media, so it shows every image (and video) attached to the product. On a product template it reads from the product the shopper is viewing automatically; elsewhere, connect the container to a product with Shopify content.
When the shopper picks a variant, the gallery refreshes to that variant's media. Selecting a thumbnail changes the main image.
Customize the gallery
Select the gallery and use the Design panel to adjust thumbnail size, spacing, border radius, and the active-thumbnail styling. Open Layouts & layers to reach the nested layers — the main slider, the thumbnail strip, and the navigation buttons — and style each one.
To let shoppers zoom, add a Toggle lightbox action to the main image so clicking it opens a full-size view.
Product galleries vs. interactive galleries
The Insert → Advanced → Interactive group also has Gallery presets, but those are for non-product media such as lookbooks or campaign images. For product pages, use Product → Gallery so the media stays tied to the product and updates with variant selection. See Carousels, slideshows, and galleries.
Multiple images per variant (Rubik Variant Images)
Shopify normally allows only one image per variant. The third-party app Rubik Variant Images lets you assign several. There's no Rubik-specific setting in Instant — a gallery already repeats over the product's media, so its extra variant images flow through automatically once the app is installed.
The one requirement is a repeater with no limit: a Product → Gallery already does this, or add Repeat element → Repeat on → Product images on a container and clear the Limit field (Repeat elements over data). For the full setup, see Rubik's guide, How to use Rubik Variant Images with Instant.
Galleries inside repeaters
Inside a Repeat on product repeater, each repeated gallery shows that row's product media. Most collection grids use a single Image field instead, and reserve the full gallery for the product page.
