A brand kit is a design system that Instant AI keeps in mind while it works. Once you set one up, the Agent uses your colors, typography, spacing, components, and do's and don'ts to keep everything it builds on-brand — without you restating your style in every message.
The brand kit is separate from Brand styles in the design panel: brand styles are reusable color and text presets you apply by hand while editing, while the brand kit guides what Instant AI generates. See Brand styles for the manual editing presets.
Set up your brand kit
The brand kit lives in the Agent, not in a separate settings screen.
Open the Agent from the left sidebar.
In the composer, open Prompt settings and select Brand Kit.
If you don't have one yet, you'll see No Brand Kit — "Help AI generate on-brand layouts using your colors, type styles, and components." Select Set up brand kit.
The Agent starts a chat to build your kit. Answer its questions — for example, whether to analyze an existing website and what typography, voice, and do's and don'ts you want.
While it works, the Agent shows Creating brand kit, then a Brand Kit preview with your Colors, Headings, and Paragraphs.
You can also create the kit by asking the Agent directly, for example "Set up my brand kit."
Apply it to your layouts
Once a brand kit exists, the Agent applies it by default to everything it builds and edits.
To turn it on or off, open Prompt settings → Brand Kit and use the Apply brand kit toggle. When on, "AI uses colors, type styles and components from this system." When off, "AI won't use your brand template as guidance in this chat."
To restyle a layout that was built before your kit, run Apply my brand kit from the command palette (or ask the Agent to "Apply my brand kit to the current layout").
Edit your brand kit
Your brand kit is stored as a design.md file you can edit directly.
In Prompt settings → Brand Kit, select Edit design.md (also available from the brand kit preview in a chat).
Make your changes in the Design.md editor, or select Ask AI to have the Agent update it for you.
Select Save changes. Instant confirms with Brand kit saved.
Plan availability
The brand kit is part of Instant AI, which is included on paid plans with monthly AI credits (Free does not include AI credits). Creating or updating a brand kit runs the Agent and uses AI credits, like other Agent work. Toggling Apply brand kit and editing design.md by hand don't use credits on their own.
