Instant is a visual page builder for Shopify. The recommended way to create a layout is with the Agent: give it a prompt, screenshot, website link, or Figma design, then review and refine the result on the visual canvas. You can also build from scratch with drag-and-drop elements.
Instant works alongside your existing Shopify theme. You don't replace Shopify — you extend it with custom layouts that use your products, collections, cart, and brand styles.
What you can build
Instant supports several layout types:
Pages — Landing pages, content pages, and your home page.
Sections — Reusable sections you add to your theme in the Shopify theme editor.
Product templates — Custom product pages you assign to products.
Collection templates — Custom collection pages you assign to collections.
Navigation — Headers and footers for your store.
Cart — A custom cart drawer.
Blog posts — Styled blog content published to Shopify.
You manage every layout from Layouts & layers. Build and edit through the Agent on the visual canvas, or open the Template Library to start from a curated layout. Insert is available only when you choose Build from scratch. See Layout types overview.
How Instant fits your workflow
A typical flow looks like this:
Create an Instant account and a project.
Connect your Shopify store.
Enable Instant Embed in your Shopify theme.
Build a layout with the Agent, using your brand kit to guide the result.
Connect Shopify products, collections, and images to your layout.
Publish to Shopify and view the result on your storefront.
You can preview layouts in the builder before publishing. Changes stay in Instant until you click Publish.
Instant AI
The Agent is the recommended way to build and edit layouts. Start with a prompt, screenshot, website link, or Figma design. The Agent builds directly on the canvas, where you review the result, select content, edit supported text, use Ask AI, and make precise changes in the Design panel. Your brand kit guides the Agent's colors, typography, spacing, components, and overall direction. AI tasks use AI credits included with your plan. Shopify connection
Instant reads products, images, variants, collections, and theme settings from Shopify once you connect your store. During setup you can choose Import brand styles to pull colors and fonts from your Shopify theme into Instant. See Connect your Shopify store.
Plans and publishing
Instant has four public plans: Free, Starter, Pro, and Business. You can build and preview every layout type on any plan — plans differ in what you can publish and how much AI you get:
Free publishes with a Built with Instant badge on your storefront.
Starter and up can publish your home page, add a Liquid code block, and remove the badge.
Pro and up can publish a cart drawer, publish to draft themes, run A/B tests, and use click and scroll heatmaps.
Business adds Shopify Markets support across all layout types.
Your active plan and its limits always appear in Settings → Plans. If you hit a plan limit while publishing, Instant shows an upgrade prompt with the required plan. Compare tiers in Compare plans.
